Don't Stop the ACLU

It's not like it's a Christian cross

The Senate voted Tuesday to transfer land beneath the vaguely cross-shaped veterans memorial atop Mt. Soledad in San Diego to the federal government, effectively nullifying previous court rulings that declared the JesusStick an unconstitutional endorsement of religion. Natch, the cats at STACLU are pleased as sacramental punch over this. Also natch, the ACLU is all over this one, and chances are they'll win in the end. If this isn't a goddamn endorsement of religion, then I don't know what is. Ya think STACLU would enjoy a giant Flying Spaghetti Monster or maybe a statue of Ganesha (easily the coolest "actual" deity) on the lawn in front of, say, the Asthabula, Ohio, courthouse?
